Thanks for all your suggestions, they've been a big help. Anyone had any experience with the Death By Audio Echo Dream 2? I know its a bit left of field but it seems to have some nice analog styled delays and looks ridiculously cool to boot.

I think that will work well. Maxon AD type delays and Mad Prof. Deep Blue Delay sit really well behind the mix in my experience.

An El Cap isn’t an analogue delay...

Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail. I also have one and am very pleased with it. Works very well with my Princeton Reverb.

The Vapor Trail is analogue, unlike the Strymon suggestions.

I rate the VT as the best of all delays, unfortunately I’ve had two with broken switches, so I moved over to the Friday club ED, which is a fantastic bit of kit

Not the most robust construction, but the Arion SAD-1 is a stellar delay. Doesn't have long delay, but I love the sound of it.

Another vote for the Vapor Trail - love mine. Very versatile, sounds great, decent price.

    +1
Actually, it is more robust than it appears - I have been (ab)using one for over 20 years and it's still going fine.

  • Moog MF Delay, if you like your repeats on the darker side. Sounds beautiful, very warm delay.

From what I've heard the vapour trail sounds fantastic, I'm hoping the AD999 will sound just as good.

I'd probably go with the maxon. Either the ad-999 or a 900 if you can grab a hold of one.
