Minor grumble, hopefully.

What's Hot

I don't spend a lot of time feeling iritated about stuff these days, and if I do there's usually something that can be done to deal with whatever is causing me stress. However. The Behringer pedal that I'm waiting for is still "somewhere", most likely in the care of HM Customs, and not only does it appear nothing can be done about how long it will take to clear, there is no way to contact them to find out what's going on. There may be good reason for this, but I've no idea what it could be. I lost a Musicman Bass in UK customs for 7 weeks once, which finally turned up with no warning and no duties, much to my surprise, so I'm fully aware that this can happen, but it's still annoying.

    What kind of pedal?
If it's a delay then it will be flagged for close inspection for being an improvised echo device.

    It’s a custom delay.

If it has been sent to Coventry it will be with UK Border Force and no doubt you will get a letter soon saying it has been deemed counterfeit and will be destroyed! They gone way over the top recent months. Seems they can put all their energy and resources into guitar gear but not stop illegals in lorries or sitting in front of them telling them they are ex ISIS...

It's coming from the US, but as it's a small package I think it goes to Langley rather than Coventry.

So it stays in the USA and gets inspected by the CIA?

    OMG!

I've just got back from visiting my Dad in Devon, and on the mat was a card from Royal Mail !

I've got £17.59 to pay in duties etc., which for a pedal that cost me $57.60 (£42) seems a bit on the steep side :( but nevertheless I can go and pick it up tomorrow :)

A large proportion of that is a rip-off royal mail handling charge

£8, so still nearly a tenner on £40 seems a bit much, but I've had others come through with no charge, so swings and roundabouts :)

The handling charge is a set fee  - not a proportion of the cost. Trust me, it would seem like a bargain if you had to deal with HMRC to settle the duty personally.

Sorry, I meant the rest, not the £8.

    £9.59, which was for VAT.

The pedal's here now, so time to muck about :)
