Hey all have a Tobacco Signature Str1-hb Les Paul style guitar i ned to move on. Made in Japan around 2006/7 and have a very good critical acclaim,  It seems that only 1000 of these where made although I have also read the figure could be closer to 2000 but that total includes the different top styles.

Stories have done the rounds that Gibson instructed the factory who made these to stop production because the quality was so high and would probably have an impact on Gibson's sales. From what I have read on the internet these guitars are on a par with the Epiphone Elitist range (that never got a release over here but were north ok 1k)

This guitar is also fitted with a Vintage slash semour pup in the bridge  Bridge and stock in the neck Neckt sounds great and the slash pickup really sings.  Plays great and is a joy, reason for sale is i have too many axes so this is the start of a cull so to speak.  

Condition is good for a 10 year old guitar, only thing to note is someone seemed to have fitted a synth pickup and removed it and left the clipped posts in instead of filling the holes.  I have tried to show on the pictures. dont mistake this for a cheap copy, it has a real maple cap and long tenon.   brilliantly made for the money i'm asking.

Willing to ship and has a gator hard case and can pack properly.  price feflects the top blemish

I'm 99% sure I owned that one at some point - I've had a few of them, great guitars!

Tanglewood were the company that commissioned and distributed them, but I never dug up any proof either way RE the cease & desist order from Gibson. They sold for ~£600 new, and I'm pretty damn sure your one came from City Music in Truro, where I bought it along with a fitted Stagg hardcase.

can you shed any light on the screws on the top?  i got told it was fitted with a roland piezo but dont have any real provenance to that

@Vettahead - afraid not, the only mod I did to it was to install some Classic 57+’s for a while, but I think I sold those on separately and reinstalled the original gotoh pickups before the guitar went.

@blueskunk - maybe I sold it to you?! Seem to recall you’ve had at least one guitar from me along the way

Very possible my mate, I have had a few over the years. I do remember you buying a rather cool PRS SE Soapbar, it had a proper PRS bridge and Bareknuckle P90s in
