Google adverts ?

Is everyone else getting half a page of ads at the top of the results when searching on Google ?  It's only started recently.  Getting right on my tits.  How do I stop it ?

Thanks for that @bingefeller ;  It appears it is Chrome specific.  I don't get the ads in Edge or IE.  I will investigate further !  Ta.

@Emp_Fab ; do you have a Google account?  I went into the settings on my android phone, switching off anything ad-related.

It appears to have been one of the Chrome extensions I had enabled.  I deleted most of them as I don't use them anymore and the ads have disappeared.  Thanks chaps.

Change your browser. Chrome collects too much data.

What's Google? 

I use duckduckgo and got an ad as the first result!

There's an option to turn it off in settings, followed by a request to support duckduckgo by spreading the word.  So here it is.

soon the day when they have Google cars roaming around and when they detect you online they will drive to your home and flypost the bastard ADs over your windows to make sure that you get the messages - AdBlock or other!
