Could have its uses as a tool. I don't think it will really teach you to control the real thing.

tbh I don't get this "Don’t know how to read music or hold a pick? No problem. No music experience is needed to be successful with the jamstik+. It doesn’t even need tuning." thing.

What, pray, is wrong with learning music properly and learning how to handle a real musical instrument?

I had one and I didn’t like it. There aren’t enough frets, the whole thing is unbalanced, and I couldn’t get the Bluetooth to pair with any iPads or iPhones (bear in mind that I was a professional gadget reviewer at the time, so it wasn’t just me messing it up).

Also, it wouldn’t detect bends, hammer-one, or really any kind of legato. That may have changed with software updates. 

If you want a guitar-shaped midi controller, use the MIDI guitar app for desktop or iOS. It’s way better, and works with any guitar. If you want a little portable practice guitar, look elsewhere. This thing is junk.

But that doesn't appeal to the shortcut obsessed, entitled, lazy society we live in.

I don't want to waste time learning stuff or having a talent - autotune, jamstik, hiding behind 10 FX pedals.

Trouble is, when most of the audience don't know or even care about real skill or talent, where's the motivation not to take the shallow path?
