It's not PC to follow horse racing these days but I like the spectacle of the Grand National and the wife & I have a flutter every year, pick a few with each way bets.

Anyone having a go or should we get into a debate on the morality of horse racing and the spectre of animal cruelty etc?

Either way, I'm having a few drinks and will be watching how our selections get on.

Be aware the Crisp white t-shirt isn't running ... it's a not a jumper so has been withdrawn at the last minute.

    :-)

Go for Creosote - it's good over fences

Mrs Stavros and I have had a flutter, as we do every year. Mrs S is a country girl and doesn’t have any qualms about it so good enough for me, I generally do as I’m told anyway

I've generally watched it through my life as my mum has always liked horse racing so it was always on at home in my youth. As I got older I became more and more perturbed at horses getting destroyed, although they clearly seem to enjoy the racing. My personal feeling is that the fences are too dangerous, I think that they should tame the course for the sake of the horses. I'm a bit meh about it these days, if I remember I'll stick it on but I don't even know the start time.

I did win £72 quid on a work sweepstake a few years ago!

I don't give a stuff for any sport but the usual suspects will be in the pub watching it, so I will be there also, for the drinking :)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

I'm going to do the same and put a few E/W bets on. Not decided who to back yet though!

Not actually interested in the race but I do find it odd that for the first time since I started (around 15 years ago) there hasn't been a sweepstake in our office.  Despite putting a fiver in each year I've never won anything on it or even seen any of the insurance money so I'm not going to miss it.

Looks like a serious injury or fatality to the rider of "saint are" at beechers brook. According to the commentators the horse is back at the paddocks "being assessed". All footage of beechers being cut and edited out from replays. Doesn't look good to me. ITV doing a good job of glossing over any bad news at the moment.

Animal cruelty, not pc.. what is the world coming to..?
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Went for Contraflow - a good each way choice.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

I have an unerring knack for backing the 3-legged donkeys, so I don't bother any more.
