T-Rex Mudhoney handwired....please describe tone

Calling any owners or players of the Mudhoney.
How would you describe this drive tone?
Marshall, Bassman ?? Hard to do i suppose but interested in this distortion pedal.

On the current That Pedal Show they are using one ( as the only source of overdrive into various flangers).

Haven't had the HW but I had both the original and 2 channel version for quite a while. Sounds great - a fat distortion that gets gnarly and a bit fuzzy the more gain you use. It's kind of got it's own thing going on which is nice and I didn't feel it was amp in a box, more of a straight up dirt. I liked it as a heavy rhythm sound or for filthy riffage rather than a lead tone but that's just my taste. Brett Kingman has a demo from a few years back which is worth a look.

Oh, and when I say heavy rhythm - I'm a classic rock guy not a metal head so my 'heavy' may not be as heavy as others :-)

Here's a guy playing through a Mudhoney, a tele and a Deluxe Reverb. He kicks the octafuzz near the end for solo.
Those are the only dirt pedals he has on his board.
