About 18 miles - just about far enough away to forget how boring it is.

I was hatched at a small top secret, cloning research somewhere in orbit in the oort cloud (I was one of the flushes, failure had consequences for us there). So that's pretty far.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

I grew up in an RAF family, so it's hard to pin down a family home and even harder to pin mine down since - though I have settled only 75 miles from where I was born.

I'm about a mile from the house I grew up in (from around 2 years old) though I have been further away.

I lived there for 18 years, I've been here nearly 26 years.

I am from rural Tasmania and live in rural Oxfordshire which is 10864 miles as the crow flies (bloody tired crow too).
The flight from Heathrow to Hobart is 26hours long at a minimum and it is usually better to break it up.

You still have a 90 min journey either side from my house here to Heathrow and then from Hobart airport to the town I grew up in, so you'd struggle to do it under 30 hours door to door.

    I guess that is far.

Just shy of 1,000 miles, assuming Chunnel usage. Little less as the crow flies.

    I'll sing along with Huey:

"I would walk five hundred miles, and I would walk five hundred more."

300miles for me. Grew up on the South coast, now live in Yorkshire but parents and sister are still where I left them on the south coast.
I'm glad I moved away, I find it a bit sad to go back and see my old friends still sitting in the same seats in the same pubs 15years later.
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

Luckily they completely changed the layout of my local or I would be in the same seat on the rare occasion I mix with the great unwashed in pubs!

You've gone the wrong way though, you are supposed to move to the prosperous south from the north : )

There are some appropriate resources at the bottom of this page:

    https://postscripter.wordpress.com/2010/03/20/the-farthest-two-cities-apart/

    I'd propose using this one:

    https://www.freemaptools.com/how-far-is-it-between.htm

717.7 miles as the crow flies for me.

It is about to get a bit closer- the upcoming move will see us 4075 miles from home.
Still an 8 hour flight but only a 3 hour time difference.

I'm 180 miles. I wouldn't want to risk going too far in case I fell off the edge.

NZ must be further! Someone could live in the south of NZ though. Or Antarctica.. And I wasn't born there, so happy to let a true Antipodean claim it :)

I went to uni 200 miles away or so, first job was 150 miles from the ancestral home, but where I was brung up is a really handy place for getting into that London town or lots of other places.
