Bit of a long day out. Promised my son we would do The Beatles Story as part of a trip to Liverpool.
I wasn’t desperately impressed with it TBH , maybe better if an adult ticket wasn’t £17. An audio tour is included so everyone walks around in silence. You also hear very little music although my main beef is probably the  lack of original artefacts ( although there are some things). Anyway, that seems to be David Bowie’s actual 12 string Hagstrom and the other guitar is supposed to be George Harrison’s Maton ( although as that sold for $500k in 2015 I’m not convinced it’s the actual one?)
Maybe people who are more into The Beatles than I am found it more impressive.

John Lennon’s ‘actual’ Imagine piano is there - bought by George Michael and gifted to Liverpool. There’s also an Abbey Road tape machine from The Beatles era. I’m an Uber fan - so I loved it.

I couldn’t see anything written about the tape machine, no sign up. It looked of the era but no explanation. I don’t think the Imagine upright was there. I’ve Googled images of it in the museum and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there.

Bit baffled as to why Bowie’s guitar is there... ok he did two songs with Lennon, but...
Anyway, I’d love to visit this sometime. Never actually been to Liverpool, which I believe is an interesting city in itself!

You'd think for $500k they'd have thrown in a bridge for that Maton.

As above, baffled why the Bowie acoustic is there, considering even the write up next to it states he only used it until 1972. Looks a lot like “crap, we can’t afford any proper Beatles memorabilia, but we’ve got to put something in there”.

The Bowie/Lennon collaboration was post Beatles. Memorabilia from that has no more business to be in a Beatles exhibition than an autographed copy of Double Fantasy.
