Ugly and nice all at the same time.
My brain says "no" whilst my heart says "yes"
I'm quote torn..

So what do you think?

Doesn't Dan Auerbach play one of these, therefore making it cool?

It kinda looks like an SG that's been left in the oven too long, and yet I DO like it.
I think they look better being played- in isolation they look weird.

I just doubt I'm cool enough to play one!

I think the Fret King Ventura does the 'melted' look better, but I'm not really a fan of either.

I like it. Very late 1960s garage scene... *but* with playability.

The Fret King, however, just looks awkward for the sake of it.

T-Bird looks far better in non-sunburst, and without the chrome control plate...

...still a bit too Dali IMHO.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

    I don't mind it.

I wish the new ones still had the built in kickstand though.

I want to like it but I can't. I tend to agree that the non sunburst versions look a bit better.

they look very odd in isolation, much better when actually being played

Looks like the type of guitar Billy Gibbons, Bo Diddly or Jack White would play... Not necessarily a bad thing.

My thoughts too were on Billy Gibbons and Bo Diddly using such a guitar. It looks like it could be really heavy.. it has a solid mahogany body.  Sounds sweet:

Edit - just noticed the three-a-side yet asymmetric headstock. Even cooler. :-)
