Having sirted out my new workshop/shed in all but one particular, time to start a new build. I have quite a pile of wood In stock but this one is top of the list.

Basically it will be a Jazz bass body with a precision neck (the preference of the person it is being built for). Body is a single piece of swamp ash, neck is flame maple and an ebony fingerboard.

Body is marked out and the neck pocket drawn in, template ready to rout the pocket. Do I rout it before cutting out? Not sure.

Neck all marked out on the blank, fingerboard slotted.

All stops. The one thing that is not ready in the shed is power! Should be installed and up and running in a fortnight....

Might run run some in temporarily to rout the truss rod.

Meanwhile, pickup decisions need to be made along with scratchplate and control layout.
