Funny how wives never ask you how much you’ve ‘earned’ on guitars, only how much you’ve spent!  :)

Because mostly after expenses and other crap “earning” on a guitar is an alien concept to most of us.. ;)

Saw an interview with Mark Tremonti. He was saying how his wife was sore with him after he treated himself to a dumble amp. Paid like $50000 for it, or another insane amount. He said he reminded her about the nice house and other things he'd paid for by playing guitar. She stopped moaning after that!

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Think of all the guitars you could have had if you’d spent those billions in......

My wife is usually the one telling me not to worry about price too much if the guitar is a fantastic instrument. But only to buy something that really is worth it. She's a wise one :)

For balance, I should mention that it was actually my wife who showed me this and said “you should post that video up on the forum!”.

I’m well aware I live a very charmed life and her self imposed ignorance of the guitar shaped boxes that appear and disappear from the house at regular intervals is a bonus....she’s even ok with me knowing the various UPS drivers by their first names... ;)

I had to google that... cool!  :)

Made we wonder what clothes would go with those shoes, but I guess it doesn't matter if people are staring at your feet.

I.wouldnt worry. The residual value of my guitars is.far higher than my wife & stepdaughters shoe & handbag collections. To be fair we.do what we want with our own cash. Which is the best way.

My father in law buys a state of the art TV every 9 months, now that's a waste of money.

    I googled it too.
I love bright and gaudy colours and would love some of those patterns as a paint job on a guitar or two.
I have no idea if that would ever be possible.

I took my significant other with me last time I bought a used guitar. I gave her the cash to hold and we had a nice drive into deepest essex on a sunny day. No secrets or deceipt. She also appreciates a) It's what I do. b) It might help pay for the hollibobs. c) We get to go to some nice venues and sometimes stayover in a nearby hotel. As hobbies go, it works out quite cheap.
