Powering Line6 M9 - Voodoo labs cables

After discovering this advice from Voodoo Labs:

To power your M9 use a Current Doubler Adapter, in two 9VDC high current capacity (400mA) outputs with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied."

I'm keen to try to power this unit using two 9v 400mA outputs from my Hotstone Deluxe power supply.

My question is: Is their recommended current doubler adapter http://www.voodoolab.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22_24_33

The same as their Y cable which I already own? https://www.gak.co.uk/en/voodoo-labs-pedal-power-cable-21mm-barrel-voltage-doubler-46cm/100978?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxYbMzpyC2wIVyr3tCh09_QkYEAQYAiABEgICiPD_BwE

Or is there a subtle difference I'm not aware of?

Do I also require the ac barrel http://www.voodoolab.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22_25_35 as it is an AC powered unit despite Line6 not stating this in their feedback above?

*M9 technically does run on DC power... There's a bridge rectifier right after the plug, so it converts the AC voltage to DC. So the M9 will work with DC power.

    It can run on DC??

Damn - wish i knew this when I was hunting around for a power supply that could run my M9 and Variax box at the same time (both AC). I ended up with Cioks AC10
Some of the gear, some idea

I used to run my m9 on 800ma DC from a cioks power supply with no issues
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

    Hello,

Yes the M9 can run on DC given sufficient current.

The doubler you linked to on GAK is actually a voltage doubler, which will take two 9V outputs to make 18V - that is not the one you want.

The Voodoo current doubler has a green barrel on one side.

This video from TrueTone has the M9 running on DC, but they said it only actually draws 350ma (about 12 minutes in)

You may also end up needing an adaptor to convert the size as well - I think the M9 has 2.5mm power input, not the typical 2.1mm
