S/C Switched output?

So, I’ve got some quite high power Bareknuckle Cobras in my strat. To get a trad strat sound I have to set the volume about 4 or 5. Is it possible to fit a switch with a resistor so that the vol in 10 has the resistor in circuit, but switch it out and you get the full ouput?

Work out the resistance value at 4 between the left and center lugs of the volume pot, call it X.
Have X in series to output, and (pot value) - X in parallel to ground. Flick of a switch and you have the same circuit as your pot on 4.
