Your Stage Persona/Look/artiste Style

I have a mind's eye view of how I would like to look on stage (no fucking hat for a start!) and as you get older the options get limited. However, just yesterday I went and took a look on Aliexpress for some everyday casual shirts (like the ones the 2 guys in BECK were wearing last night on TV) and stumbled on the absolute perfect stage shirt that would fit-in with the Psychedelic/Stoner vibe that TBH musically is sooo easy to put together and that a student wants us to pursue against all my barracking!

My partner said "you're not buying that no-way" but it played on my mind and I thought - "Dammit - if I don't grab it now, along will come the day when I WILL need it and then will never find it so cheaply and easily"...

So on it's way is my £5.80 shirt (that's with the 4.39% and TopCashback £2.50 weekend promo payback)

Whatever the dress code, I always wear black. It could be vest, T-shirt, polo-shirt, short-sleeved shirt with a collar, long-sleeved shirt with or without a collar, or even a jumper over a shirt if the temperature were cool enough - but it will always be black.

I hate playing guitar in long sleeves, so it'd have to be a t shirt no matter how cold.

Likewise, I always roll long sleeves back to halfway between wrist and elbow

I used to wear a Shiteshirt for gigs, but as I get older and uglier I prefer the dignity of a suit.

I always feel that the audience deserves some respect, so i like to dress appropriately. T-shirt and jeans don’t cut it for a covers band. Neither does a jacket because it Interferes with playing a guitar. Hats just take the light off your face, reducing audience contact. Over the years I’ve seen a lot of guitarists wearing brightly coloured stage shirts, particularly ageing rockers looking like mutton dressed as lamb. Chris Squires said that he wore white because he was even more visible under the lights than Jon Anderson in his coloured shirts. So they’re out too.

My answer has been a white shirt, for the lights, and a waistcoat. I have a couple with different designs. Putting on the waistcoat is stepping into my stage persona.
