    This.

I can't sit and relax in the garden unless the lawn is well cut.Luckily it only takes me about forty minutes to do the front and back so its done most weekends.

I do like a well kept garden.

  • ...although I used to hate it with a passion, because when I first bought my house, I had to do a p/t job at weekends after a full week in the office. It always seemed to rain whenever I got the weekend off, so "mowing the lawn" was more like hacking away at waist high grass with a little Flymo... front and back. We've since got the front turned into a driveway and I only work many weekends now when I want to.

Cutting grass is one of my favourite gardening jobs. A couple of hours weekly (twice weekly in the growing season) is all it takes.  A lawn needs to be edged to separate it from flower beds. Edging the lawn is hard work, there are power tools that do this job, but they are both heavy and expensive.

I like it. Petrol rotary jobbie. I get exercise, the lawns look lovely, I cut a couple of neigbours front lawns too and the little old lady on the corner gets front and back done as well as some of the footpath at the back of our properties.
I also get to collect all that compostable material to make great compost. It's the kind of job where your mind can relax and wonder while you achieve something.

    Hate it.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I hate it. Within 10 min out in the garden my ears eyes nose and throat are all itching like a bastard and I've sneezed enough to soak a handkerchief. Went outside on Saturday just long enough to take a hedge trimmer to the hedge by the footpath (to stop it attacking Joe Public) and the big bush by the garage (so you can approach the front door without getting your eye poked). The grass is now tabletop height ...

    I love it.

If only I could look after myself as well as I look after my lawn.

    I don't mow.

    I strim.

    My lawn is awful.

I don't like doing it, but I love the look of the garden when it's mowed.

    Its a chore for me.

Id rather spend the 45mins playing guitar.

All I’ve got is an old flymo thats handle pops off at any lateral movement, which is always as the gardens uneven with about 70 different obstacles to mow around.

Id pave the lot if I could I reckon lol

The novelty's worn off tbh , but considering I repair garden machinery for a living it's not surprising.

I’m letting mine “grow out” at the moment. The bees are loving the clover.

I'd rather give myself a prostate massage with a roll of sandpaper.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

^This. Actually I don’t really mind mowing, but I do like it looking tidy (and sitting in it with a glass of something cold).
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

well, it's part of how I earn, so guess I kinda have to like it, sure beats working in a office. For pleasure, when I'm not being paid, I prefer to mow grass with a scythe.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.
