Do I need my Phaser?

I have an MXR Phase 90 Block which I bought about 5/6 years ago as I was convinced I needed one. I think I have used it a handful of times. Tempted to get rid but feel I'd regret it for some reason. Can you convince me I do or don't need it?

You need to first ask if you’re  planning to beam down to the planet’s surface? 

If so, I’d take it.

Trade it for a Small Stone and then you'll need a phaser

Unless you need the cash for something else I’d just put it in a drawer and see if you miss it.  It’s not a lot of space taken up like hanging on to an old amp so hang on for now - I like phasers and probably haven’t got the space on my smallish board but wish I had the room.

There's something iconic about the look of MXR pedals. If you don't want to listen to it right now put it on display somewhere.

It's a classic Phaser. It's the Phaser you will compare other Phasers to. Unless you got a better one, I suggest you keep it.

I’ve got rid of my Phaser and Flanger.. I only used them for replicating certain classic songs..Floyd, Barracuda by Heart, Van Halen, Led Zep etc

The word need should NEVER be used on this forum - we don't need any of the gear we have - we may desire it we may feel happy that we have it and we certainly want it it.

Is a phaser a good pedal to have - most definitely - Is yours a good one - IMO yes indeed. Do you need it no.

Its a classic. Gives your signal a little boost too so its a good solo stomp.
I mean, no, i never went past about 10 o'clock but its great. I sold mine when i bought the MD500 but i liked it a lot
