Looking for a colour and binding size??.

What's Hot
Fender Japan '62 Custom Telecaster Reissue TL62B Vintage White

As above really want to get hold of this colour not in aerosol form in a tin (nitro) I'll be giving it my paint sprayer mate to finish. Also I'd like the binding to be the same size where would I get that and what size to match that guitar.

Cheers sorry if link doesn't work and hopefully I'm understood.

    Is the Tele currently unbound?

I wouldn’t go to the expense of retrofitting binding on a Tele.

The result is very angular edges that I personally found a bit in comfortable playing when compared to a standard Tele body.

It might say more about my technique but the inside of my forearm got quite red and irritated after an hour or so.

    Good luck whatever you decide.

  • It would only cost me the binding as I'm a joiner by trade.

I think a nice binding on a tele looks really nice just finishes it of.

I never thought about comfort can a binding not have a little Harris on it so it's not so sharp.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated

I usually roll off the binding at the forearm area on the aged bodies I do. Wet and dry paper until it’s taken the edge off.

If you want a softer edge go for thicker binding (2-2.5mm) and add a subtle round over or bevel.   If you want more traditional fender style go 1mm thinner on the binding and keep it square edged

since it’s not a traditional fender look I would be tempted by the first option
