I think others are doing this too, e.g. guitar guitar were doing 2 years 0% on Gibson and 3 years on Gibson CS. Andertons had discounts and 0% on some tasty looking Gibson CS models... not sure if the deals expired though.

Have they been given incentives from Gibson to shift stock?

Whats the process of a middle sized shop being able to offer finance at 0% - does this involve any 3rd party creditors.

maybe it's something to do with the current political context?

trumptard currently poisioning & bottlenecking international trade with his compulsive willy-waving.

& uk about to crash into a huge financial & trade question mark over 'the sh*tshow whose name we dare not mention'.

maybe gibson (with current woes) are anxious to pocket what they can while they still can & will cut sweet deals with retailers who can help them out?
hofner hussie & hayman harpie. what she said...

  • Pmt can arrange 0% on anything if pushed. I’m collecting a telecaster today from them where they’ve price matched from another store and given me the finance which the other shop wouldn’t do because it was in the sale.

It’s most likely because they’re about to be deluged with a shitload of 2019 guitars so trying to sell as many 2018 models as possible so they don’t have to discount so many of them lat

I tried a really nice 56 Goldtop in PMT yesterday they know I'm a sucker for this sort of deal.

I was strong though... on this occasion.

If they had a Gold Top with h umbuckers I'd probably be there. I know they doing the p90 jobbie at moment but not what I'm looking for:( R7's too much:( even on 0%.

I see guitarguitar has bumped price of gold top classic up to £1699. Naughty.

Last time I chatted to someone about retail finance, 0% deals typically cost the retailer around 6%, and it's always via a 3rd party credit provider.
I'd guess there are price control terms attached to being a dealer to keep prices fixed, which are most likely very dubious legally, but nobody will want to challenge them and risk losing their dealership.
