By way of a trade, this arrived yesterday...

The non-original nut needs replacing, but otherwise, I'm really pleased with it - plays well, sounds good, etc.

I've seen this model, in this colour, quite a lot on eBay over the years, maybe this actual guitar.  And I think it looks great, nice catch.

But that MD Phillips nut has to go.

I like pretty much everything about that guitar. Well done.

    Noise, randomness, ballistic uncertainty.

Do you like the Revstars as much as the SGs?

    I have only tried one!
IWent to Frets to buy the 820CPR. Absolutely loved it. Trouble was he had a couple of new SG1820's that were reduced to less than 2k.
I had the funds at the time and liked a black SG so I went for that. I know I can pick up a Revstar easier than that SG.
I really liked that Revstar. It was lighter than tbe SG and I loved the simplicity of it. I thought it was a well made guitar.
I still want to own one based on  the one I tried. Seemed more versatile than the SG.

@TA22GT I've got SG2000 and SA2200, tried Revstar at one of the Birmingham guitar shows. I liked it but not enough for it to supplant my SG2000, and not even enough to forego other things on the GAS list as I figured I couldn't justify another DC solid. If I didn't already have a DC solid it would be a strong contender though.

Cool!   My first SG was the 400 back in the early 80's.

Current favourite is my SG1000 because of the set neck construction.

That's a great collection you have!!

Wow!  I love Yamaha SGs, especially in some of the more unusual colours, blue, green, purple... About the only colour I'm not fond of is the brown on the SG700 - which was my first Yamaha back in the 80s!

Currently just have a gold top SG1802 - sound's like you've got an impressive collection there (why am I not surprised?).
