There's a guy in Dunstable/Houghton Regis if you live in Nth London. I've used him to repair Boogies

    David Russell.  dave@ampbuilder.co.uk or 01582 868017.

I think John Kelly still works out of his home, but not sure if he's in a shed.

I have had 35% success rate with guitar repair guys in home/sheds/garden workshops - Although I found an excellent one in the end
So I'm not sure location is the best way to start filtering your options

    GuitarAid get good write ups.

I think if you pay for a cheap repair, you’ll probably get a cheap repair.

The decent lot who work from home or a shed will still charge a competitive rate, they just wont have the overheads that a big firm or London high street would have, so it may be a little cheaper but I wouldnt expect by much.

It depends what you need and what the amp is.

There are some jobs on some amps I'd only trust a handful of specialists in the UK with, but others that my blind mother in law could cope with.

    God rest her soul.

What do you need doing? You might give @jpfamps a call anyway, just to check pricing.

There's a chap in Surbiton, if that's close enough I'll dig out his website address if you want
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

If you are not going to use JPF, then I have had good dealings with Dave at ampbuilder and also Jon at Dickinson amps is very good.

Its London so nothing is cheap, but it may be crap...

Do they even allow decent size sheds in London.....

I've had amps fixed by Guitar Aid in Putney a few times. Also Alberto Zioli who operates out of Creation Studios which is on an old public toilet between Camden and Kentish Town.

The OP wanted someone working from their home or a shed, but not a toilet! :)

Greg and Adam at GuitarAid will look after you. Worth ringing to check turn around times because they are busy at the moment - testament to their reputation perhaps?

Jon Griffin at GTek; based at Bush Studios, under the railway arches (medium funky).  Jon knows his stuff, and won't blindly replace components unless they read under the original value.  He's keen to keep the reason you bought the amp in the first place intact.
