So, Im looking to introduce a midi switching system for my Mesa Boogie Mark 4 so it ends the tap dance.  Whats a good system with good delays and reverbs as well as drive sections ...

G system worked a treat with that Boogie..but no drives...and do you really need more with the gain on tap?

Digitech GSP1101 (with the beta C63 firmware) but you'd need either the Control 2 floorboard or a midi board. Delays are good, reverbs are Lexicon so very good and the drives are good for a digital unit but not exactly boutique territory.

Im using a boss GT-10 but dont rate the drives, I use my the amp dirt only (although i can palce it anywhere in the chain).

Im pondering if I do need the dirt actually.. All Id like really like is a one tap solution to having tap tempo delays, reverbs etc on clean channels without going to the FX loop AND clean channel..

Just wondering if I could get away with something like a Nova System and run the delays etc in the front? I do like the sound of it round the back though

there's always an M13...but you will need a midi switcher with that..

yeah, this is what Im thinking..

    Amp gizmo > m13

Would that be how you did it?

I've got a G-Major setup with my Amps (Both my Mark V, and my Stoneham) works perfectly, can switch channels on the amps no problem and effects sound great.

The only problem with that then is that its a rack mount thing and I have enough to carry as it is. (Using the combo mark 4). Does the Mark 5 have a midi as standard?

G Major would be 1/4 "" jacks IIRC..

and yes, I had the IV with an M13 at one time..with an RJM, worked a treat

No Midi on the Mark V, used a 1/4" cable (Stereo split to 2 x mono ends). I have mine in a small 1u rack case and it doesn't really take up much room in the car. Just sit's on-top of the amp when gigging. Midi controller on the board means I can use single buttons to change patches without the tap dancing, but still have control of the individual effects via CCs.
