Analog Delay Recommendations...

What's Hot
challenchallen Frets: 51
I use a Way Huge Aqua Puss for slapback. I like the way it sounds but the volume drop when I turn it on has always bugged me a bit. Anyone got any recommendations for a similar sounding pedal without this annoying quirk? The more simple, the better. I'll only be using it for slapback.

Cheers.

Best two I ever had -

Cheap(ish) - Carbon Copy, so good I ran two at one point

Analogman ADRX20 - large, but a thing of beauty

Thanks for the recommendations, I should add that space on my board is tight so it can't be any bigger than the 'Puss.

If you need modulation then Carbon Copy if you don't then DM2-W.

Back on topic - how about the Ibanez mini analog delay? You could have one of those and a TC Mini in that space

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Just to say probably not the Carbon Copy. If you hear the Puss as having volume drop you'll hear the same for the CC. If it's primarily for slapback then modulation will be a non issue, the Boss DM2-W probably ticks all the boxes here.
I'd suggest the Minifooger as it has a built in pre amp but it's large and not universally loved.

Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

Not quite analog but what about the Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay? It doesn’t sound digital to my ears and it replaced the Carbon Copy I had.

Looks like I'm going to check out a DM2-W then! Just had a look online, spec looks ideal. Thanks!

This is also on the list to try, I think a friend of mine has one so will see if I can have a go on that, too.

    used a few:

    Dod Rubberneck
    EHX DMM 1100tt
    Moore Ana Echo
    Boss DM2 Waza
    Moog minifooger
    Chase Bliss TR

Of those, if all you want is slapback, get the Ana Echo. Cheap as Chips and easy to use.

Though the best slapback in my opinion comes from a tape echo, not an analogue one. (my Roland RE501 just sounds awesome for this, though a tad overkill)

Just in case you're still thinking about it and haven't pulled the trigger yet:

I like the Carbon Copy but it's not what I'd use for slapback, it's just a bit too dark sounding and there's better delays out there for that.

Yeah, the DM-2w is defo a better choice for what you want IMO.
