    I’d buy that.

For 1/10 of the asking price. Maybe.

Surface cracks? Think it goes a little deeper than that.

It’s a very simple business model. Think of an optimistic price and add a zero

What's the advantage of listing:  'several extra screw holes on back' -  Does that add to the value?

They don’t want it returned due to inaccurate description.

While the price is clearly wildly optimistic and the bass is not in great condition - and is not a very sought-after model anyway - the original Thunderbird pickup, bridge and tailpiece do have a significant value. I'm not sure exactly how much, but certainly at least a few hundred pounds I think.

There's a mint example on Reverb atm, eye watering price.

That's in astonishing condition - although it's *not* mint, there two small dings on the back of the headstock end and possibly a crack (lengthways) in the back of the neck behind the nut, although that could be a photo artifact - and interestingly it appears to be a 'factory second', since it's stamped 2 above the G machinehead. It does seem a very high price, but the seller is probably right that there isn't a better example. The case is even more incredible considering they're so easily damaged, it's clearly a true under-the-bed example.

Yes, the case is a beauty, but what sharp eyes you have grandma! I never noticed the 2 and I think you are right, there is a flaw in the neck finish, looks like the lacquer might have cracked and lifted somewhat, it could be a trick of the light but it reveals more if you raise the levels on the pic.
