Noisy compressor

morning all.

I gigged over the weekend and it turns out my compressor was hissy as a box of snakes. Just couldn't figure it out and it was almost unusable which was bloody annoying as I like a nice touch of compressor on clean funky stuff.

my set up is as follows:

Power supply is a voodoo labs 4x4
No daisy chain- dedicated power out to the compressor
With the compressor off, no other noise, irrespective of what is engaged whether before the front or in the loop and these include drives, modulation and h9
With the compressor on is is chuffing hissy
The compressor is a 2 knob keeley, with both knobs at about 12 o clock

i have since tested it all at home and it's all back to normal.

The only thing I can think of is that the power supply at the venue was a bit dodgy. We had the usual limited number of power cables from mains and we inserted a couple of breakers for safety. Folks at the venue were saying they are having regular power cuts- several 30 sec outages per day so there are obvious issues at the mains. Could it be this was another symptom of the obvious mains issue at the grid?

Any thoughts
