Re-homed 2012 Huber Orca

I'm reluctantly looking to move on my mint Nik Huber Orca in semi-gloss finish with aged hardware. Bursted front, back and neck (special order)

It's extremely resonant, has sustain for days and delivers classic smokey 50s LP tones, whilst having the feel of an old, played-in a very comfortable vintage guitar.

It's stunning to play, with enough beef to muscle it's way through the full gamut of rock classics and the touch, dynamics and response to bring the best out of your blues and jazz licks.

The Orca is Nik Huber's take on the classic Lester, albeit making use of all of the learnings which have come from playing and building these guitars since 1952

  • The body is a touch thinner (weighing in at around 8lbs) and is body contoured for comfort
  • The neck has a classic 59 shape, with enough mass to ensure great sustain and note definition, but slim shoulders so it sits comfortably in the hand
  • The scale length is a barely perceptibly longer than standard 25", which improves attack and note definition
  • The neck pitch is lower, so the bridge can be closer to the body for better sustain and playing comfort
  • Compound fingerboard radius that's a little flatter at 14"- 16" to enable more comfortable lead playing

The guitar has zero issues and is all original, apart from a wiring change to 50s wiring with a phase flip on the push / pull pot (rather than 'modern' wiring with a treble bypass and a dual coil tap) An entirely new loom has been installed using CTS TVT / RS Superpots and Sprague caps. (The original loom will be included in the sale, so this is easily reversed should you want to do that)

Any serious buyers are welcome to come and try out the guitar in Dorking, Surrey (about 45mins from central London by car or train and 10min from J8 or J9 of the M25)

I will also drive up to 90mins to meet a buyer half way

I have a purpose made shipping carton and will ship the guitar at cost - please contact me with a shipping address for a quote

The guitar does not currently have any CITES certification and so can't ship outside of the UK / EU. A CITES certificate can be arranged at the buyer's cost

Pleeeease no time wasters! :-/

Frankly, that’s a steal for a guitar of this quality and condition

Sorry Thorpy - missed this - really looking at a sale now, but could always be tempted by something 'interesting'

This is beautiful, but I think I'll wait until Peach start banging them out for £2,499.

Plenty of nice guitars available at Peach for that kind of money - enjoy!

...not going to be an Orca though I'm afraid - you're massively below even trade in value

Are you thinking of the non-Custom Krautster maybe?

It was just a joke, referring to the Peach/R8 mega-thread.
