Getting rid of chorus and phaser

The TC Nova Modulator is worth a look.

It has two independent or syncronisable sides, each can do (from memory) phaser, chorus, trichorus, flanger, tremolo and vibrato.

You can combine them pretty much however you want - so one side at half the speed of the other, or both completely free. Lots of nice combinations, and you can save presets (though recalling them is a bit fiddlier).

I've got a boss flanger, simple and good value as well as reliable.
When I first got it I had to spend some time getting to know it. Now I have a basic setting that can cover for a quick flange sound as well as chorus type effect on lead. Further twiddling gets an even greater combination of effects and depths.
I still have a chorus for the instant subtle effect on chords, but never found the need to replace the phaser I had over 30 years ago.
All is dependent on your setup and the material you regularly need to play.

Why do you think you need modulation?

    Harmonic tremolo is the answer.

    ...to almost anything.
As a Joey Landreth fan I'm sorely tempted. But which one...?
I had a Basic Audio Throbby, which was good. But I definitely prefer valve amp trem to pedals.

What about source audio? All their pedals seem like decent multi function-ers.

Ventura Vibe, definitely. The univibe is nice and the vibrato does a nice chorus if you set the mix right.

A modded phase 45 with the univibe mod is also a nice sound.

For Harmonic Trem, the Surfy is the best I’ve heard. Cheap too if you buy the PCB and box it yourself. There’s a huge harmonic trem shootiut on youtube, and I think the Surfy wins it. Downside, unmodified the slowest speed is the same as a Fender brownface trem but not as slow as some might like.

    Recommend the Walrus Monument trem.
    The harmonic mode is stunning!!

A colleague has that and loves it. Just to pricey for me sadly

    Source Audio Vertigo

    Accept no substitutes!
Not much of the gear, even less idea.

I like uni vibes but find them a bit in your face. Shreddy Swirl is my one box (and one knob) modulation effect. It’s vibe-ish but comes from the phaser side of the fence, it’s glorious.

The Bearfoot Mint Green Mini Vibe is worth checking out. It's as much trem as it is vibe and has a very addictive sparkly movement to its sound. There was one for sale a while back on FB.

Boss DC2 or the TC clone (3rd Dimension)

Two concurrent choruses with the sweeps 180 degrees out of phase

You don't hear the sweep but it does something. Very weird and quite subtle

Edit: looks like the TC is down to £48 new now

Didn't know about this, not much in it, is there!  And more flexibility on the TC side

The DC2 doesn't have analog dry signal passthrough... because it's analog

I have a Source Audio Gemini Chorus; hook it up to your mobile and select a number of different chorus, phaser and flanger presets. You can select up to 6 presets at a time to use on the pedal. I was playing around with a vibra-trem based on a magnatone amp last night. Sounded glorious.

Necrothreading here but the TC pedals including dimension chorus are being blown out at crazy low prices at the moment

Cheapest I could find with delivery is GAK £29 https://www.gak.co.uk/en/tc-electronic-3rd-dimension-chorus-pedal/912502
