Would you accept a Paypal payment, via Credit Card?

What's Hot
I'm selling a motorbike, will be meeting a potential buyer tonight but he's given me advance warning that he doesn't have cash but is willing to use his credit card through Paypal.

Credit to him (pun fully intended) for letting me know in advance so I can think it over.

My worry is that he will be able to file a dispute and get his money back, and then Paypal and/or the CC company will begin a process to reclaim the money from me. In fact, I think Paypal can just take the money back easily.

He seems legit, but wanted to get some opinions on the idea.

I'm thinking I should just advise him to withdraw cash with his credit card.

Could take a deposit via the card and say must be cash for the rest.

This. There is no way on earth I would take PayPal for a vehicle.

  • If he pays by PayPal using any method, but you have no proof of delivery, your money might as well be written on the side of a bus

Technically if he withdraws from the sale without first returning the vehicle its theft by fraud isn't it?

Also, he could easily do a bank transfer payment from a cc.

  • Cool, I'll see what he says. I only put it up for sale a few hours ago, so I'm prepared to wait a bit.

I would, he is probably genuine, different folks , different strokes and it could just be a convenience thing, he could ''gift'' the money to you, but still, cash talks and bullshit walks.

  • He changed his own mind, had agreed to buy the bike and pay cash or bank transfer. I didn't need to say anything more about it.
