Never thought I'd own a Squier but I picked this up in a shop near me and fell in love.

That is lovely! I have a bit of a thing for Orange guitars
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

    C'mon, it's a guitar forum - couldn't you compromise with one of these? ;)

My No1 and used 99% of each gig is this Suhr (GuitarGuitar Select) - it's home and makes me smile every time. My Guthrie Charvel sits on the stand at every gig and I keep meaning to use it in one song or another then just stick to the Tele :) That's why it's for sale and I'm getting another Suhr!

Sometimes I take some time off with another guitar but this one always finds it's way to the #1 position!

that's a swish and starry photo. very old grey whistle test texture. you are another like @p90fool (first page of this thread) who has obvious performer confidence and authority.

i think that's what separates a lot of singers from guitarists. some people (myself included) play guitar because they don;t want to have to be the one who has to look the audience in the eye.
having a guitar to look down at and fiddle with is a good excuse to be up there and making a big noise without having to deal (actual eye contact) with anyone who might be listening.
    Thanks.
Actually I'm not the singer but I do back vocals.
About the look into the audience, i learned it after a show where I had a video camera right in front of me the whole show! I never knew if he was filming me or someone else in the band so I had to pretend I was always being filmed and that made me realize that someone may be looking at me and I have to behave like I'm on a stage and not at my rehearsal space playing with my friends.

As of about 36 hours ago, it's this rockin' totem of pared-down simplicity.  Can't put it down (and skiving work to play this morning)...

If I am ever able to have a guitar built for me, I would be on Felines case straight away.

Very nice. How's the fretboard on those (it is a Warwick Thumb yes?), looks to be very broad? Since getting a fretless violin bass I've been obsessed with fretless - there's just so many more notes available!

Thanks. Yes, it’s a Warwick thumb.

The fretboard isn’t particularly broad - about the same as your average P bass, but the neck is pretty thick. I like it, but I have fairly big hands.

Welcome to the fretless club! I switched to playing fretless twenty five years ago, and hardly ever play a fretted bass now. I just love the variety of expression I can get on this - it can punch hard if I want, but it can also sing really sweetly too.

My current fave - based on an Ibanez RG1527 but with a custom korina body, swirl paint finish by me, and a Bare Knuckle Holy Diver set with a diMarzio single coil in between
