Picked up a new preamp DI pedal yesterday - a Dr J Sparrow - which cost buttons.
It's tiny - significantly smaller than any other DI's I have, so I discovered I had a spare slot on my Pedaltrain Nano.
Had a rummage round the pedal drawers and pulled out a Bad Monkey. "Wonder what that's like on a bass?" I thought.
Googled the strumpet, and t'internet said "Gain - 0, Bass - 10, Treble - 10"
So I did.
It's effin' marvellous. Like a tone boost that gives a really nice very subtle valve creaminess to the sound. Glorious. I'm most surprised.
I expect the Bad Monkey secondhand market to explode now as bassplayers follow the wise words of Bridgehouse and buy one.

If I understand this thread correctly, you pulled your monkey out of your drawers, slapped away and ended up creamy. To cap it all off, you expect others to follow your example.
