Any love for Rush here? Spirit of the Radio could be a good track.
I'd be well up for doing a Rush track. Especially something Limelight or The Trees. Could be a tall order for a jam day though.
Fly by Night is also pretty straightforward.

    ORRR

We could sack off the entire setlist and everyone could just learn a part of 2112. ;)

I love the Black Crowes, so Remedy is good for me. Would guitar and sing on that!
Are you on a personal mission to sing all the songs I want to sing? Save some for the cripple ;)
Crikey I hope you are better by February!
So do I, but it's not a given at all sadly. Could be 8-10 months before I get everything back  if it comes back at all
    Shit - sorry mate :(

  • I'm putting this here as well as I REALLY want to sing this one, and bass it if I'm physically able to...
    Girl From Mars - Ash

I've had a long term hankering to do Maiden's Running Free. Absolutely no idea how accessible it is, tho it looks like the basic riff is OK. Demanding bass AND solos AND drums AND vox? ;-)

The rhythm part to Running Free is fairly easy - one of the first things I learnt (badly) in my teens.  The rest can be a bit more tricky.

Left-field crowd pleaser: Does your mother know - Abba

It's surprisingly fun to play, and works as a rocky number too.

Running free was also one of my first badly learnt songs

And everytime i've seen Paul Gilbert he usually rips out an Abba piece

We play that in my three-piece as a rocky version. Goes down a storm in the second, more up-tempo set.

    Any Springsteen love here?

Dancing in the Dark, rocked up. No keys necessary - one of the most recognisable hooks in rock, easy and fun to play on guitar. Accessible & a great crowd pleaser for the gig.

It’s one of the very few covers my band does and it goes down brilliantly - I’d love to do it

We’ve never recorded it actually - but we do it straight. Acoustic guitar, drums, lead, bass and keys..

I'd be happy to join in on this - it's one my old band did and it always went down well.

There are quite a few that have been mentioned that I already know and plenty more that I'd be happy to learn.

I'll have a scan through our current set list at lunch time and see if there's anything on there that's not been mentioned yet that could be a good fit.
