Shishkov is an absolute master in these sorts of things. They're horrible in many ways, and I definitely don't want one, but you have to admire the level of devotion to make shiny crap to sell to people with too much money

That's unbelievably horrible. It totally misses the Tele aesthetic of stripped back workhorse ... and makes some of those bling infested PRS horrors they occasionally come out with look tasteful!

It leaves me feeling ambivalent in all honestly.  I like that Fender CS have done it but I have to ask why they've done it, except "because we can".

The craftsmanship and attention to detail is obviously incredible but is that guitar ever going to be used in anger, or even used as anything else other than an exhibition piece?

Horrible and gross. It's like Fender have never seen Girl Brand guitars. The tele shape is such a good starting point from which to exercise creativity.
