I am considering buying a Little Sister, the amp from B and G is £3,000 plus.
Now, I am no amp expert, so could someone give me advice on what to buy, for considerably less money.
Thanks

  • have a look in the classifieds on here...plenty of GREAT amps at sensible prices,  B&G aren't shy in charging top dollar are they! good luck to them though, nice guitars

The Little Sister is a guitar, do they do an amp as well?

What type of music do you want the amp for?

IMO Guitar companies do this to capitalise on their existing client base - rather than because they are amp makers - and so the amps may not be anything particularly special, circuit wise or construction wise. The higher end purchaser can get a matching set which is fine, but the USP of the amp is often the ‘matching set’ bit rather than the ‘awesome amp in its own right’ bit.

For 3k plus I think all the points above are very valid and yes it sounds nice on clean and break up tones but so do many cheaper options.

as said if you love the brand then maybe it’s the amp for you, I would want to try one out for a good time before parting with 3k

  • I was quite surprised by the 2 10” Jensen speakers. The g10 gold would be a far superior option in an amp like this. Yeah it ticks all the American influenced boxes & it looks really nice btw. As others have said, the equivalent fender would be fine match for something like this.

For this his kind of money I’d be talking to a well established boutique builder, for example Mark Bartel or Cliff at 633
