It's a pair that were in a Teisco / Woolworths Top-Twenty guitar that I found in a pawn shop / bong shop in Westcliff-on-Sea for £25 a couple of years ago.

Some folks call them "black foils." Not so sought after as "gold foils" - hence the conversion!

Oh the guitar itself was dog poo. I know some people get dewy eyed about them, but I've abandoned plans to restore it.

I'm thinking about getting a Squier or Harley Benton Mustang and sticking these "gold foils" on it.

Thanks for the info. 

I picked up a guitar like that as well, like one in this YT Video and I agree the guitar is a piece of junk!  I bought it a charity shop for a tenner almost 15 years or so and it came without a control plate and I've not got far enough whether to find out whether the pickups work or not!
