I'm noticing a trend towards this kind of business model - Chapman guitars, Thomas Blug's BluGuitar brand and now these Slick guitars - small scale, cut-out-the-distributors, 'name' figurehead, internet promotion.
Is this the start of a 'golden age' for cheap, good guitars? Is this the beginning of the end for the old, traditional brands/business model?
I don't know but it's interesting. And as someone who started out with cheap 70s/80s guitars (I remember Marlin strats coming out and being considered excellent for the money!) I'm envious of what young beginner guitarists can buy for very little money these days.
