I`ve been roped into spending 1/2 an hour a week teaching my friend`s 11 yr old daughter - any recommendations as to a suitable and interesting book to buy to work through with her?

Thanks

  • I suspect it's going to be the Justin Guitar online lessons. I don't think that content would be 100% clear to an 11 year old but once you've explained it easy for her to go back to during the week once she's had the lesson.
Plus the have natty t shirts.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

  • Unless she's doing grades don't work from a book, I hate the whole strict and one-size-fits-all approach. Instead find out what music she likes and adapt it to that. It will kill enthusiasm if all she plays is scales and "boring stuff" to a kid!

Having said that the RGT Grades are good for structure, there's a handbook for each grade but I would try to try to just get her to play simple tunes to keep it fun.
