Help verifying Gibson in ad

I have found a Gibson Les Paul I like online, private sale, but I am paranoid about Chibsons now... is there anybody who is quite good at identifying Chibsons who could help? If you could PM me I’d really appreciate it as I don’t want to appear to be making accusations when I’m not, but similarly I want to be sure before dropping over £1k. I have no reason to suspect it’s fake, I’m literally just paranoid but if someone would be willing to humour me I’d be massively grateful! It is not listed on this forum but that doesn’t mean the guy wouldn’t see my post!

There’s nothing wrong with asking expert advice when there’s cash on the line! 
Lots of people post links to such ads and get a good response. If I were the seller I wouldn’t be offended by it- so long as the guitar I were selling WAS legit! 
If you want to keep it private I’d ping @ICBM a message- he’s the forum Yoda (& not just because he’s green and speaks funny )

Its a 2013 LP traditional with Slash pickups and an upgraded gotoh saddle and truss rod cover. The finish doesn’t looks like any cherry I’ve seen on traditionals before, looks more like a standard but I like it. I have requested more photos.

That's a proper Gibson in my opinion.

Yes no doubt. The truss rod cover has been switched for a non-Gibson one.

Thanks guys! What about the finish? Doesn’t look like any of the 2013 finishes... do Gibson finishes vary that much?

Guitar looks good, photo on the other hand looks like it has a filter on it/boosted contrast, I'd expect the whole think to be lighter in person.

I asked about it and they said no filter, just very bright sunlight... suppose it depends on the device as to what post-processing is automatically added... it’s local to me though so I’d try it first

The only thing that doesn't add up is that it comes with 'original brown Gibson case' but every 2013 traditional I have seen comes with a black case...

Certainly looks the the real deal to me, I’ve just never seen a finish and top like that on a traditional ever! They are definitely unfiltered pics. The case being the wrong case is odd but the seller said he bought it used in 2014 so it could be that the previous owner lost or damaged the original case?

My 13 trad came with a black case though I think I prefer the brown!

Yeah they all came with black cases... I actually prefer the brown but I was more highlighting it as something out of the ordinary as all 2013 guitars came with black ones.

On a side, how do you find the guitar?

The nibbed fret ends and two screw truss rod cover would indicate that it’s the real deal. A view of the heel and back of the neck for signs of joints would be nice as would a look inside the control cavity’s to convince me.

Looks legit but jeepers the wings on the headstock are sharp!

Be cautious, most Chibsons now have fret nibs and 2 screw truss rod covers, they are getting harder to spot. Theirs still a few things which can give them away.
