A Gold Top, A Bigsby and WezV.

6 weeks or so ago, @WezV ;; started to restore my 1997 R6.

Always an amazing sounding guitar, fantastic wood (the goodwood era) but the previous owner had done a home made relic hatchet job on it.

6 weeks later, we now have an amazing restoration, Gilmourized (natch) and Wez hand carving an Ali Dogbone Bridge for the right look.

Suprisingly, hard bolting the Bigsby down with a floating bridge has really added to the sustain and growl.

Had a Vibramate and T-O-M before.

I guess it's more metal on more wood helping the resonance.

i am glad you said about the sustain thing because I noticed it too.  I think part of it is the change in break angle when using a vibramate.  In some guitars the reduced angle is helpful.  On yours it was holding it back a bit

Wez, really noticable on the neck pup. Yes, the break angle would make sense- prob a combination of that and direct fixture to the top.
