Anyone been to see Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets yet

What's Hot
Excpet gassage obviously.

Of too Portsmouth tonight and have to say I'm more than a little excited.

Just as long has Nick has an "on" night with his drumming, not that he's ever been the greatest drummer bit some of the YouTube clips of this tour I've seen have been wince inducing

Yup I saw the rehersal show and the Paris shows.

Quite decent, if you like the old FLoyd stuff, which I don't

Guy's one liner on the Nile Song is, however, superb.

He's not got Norman Smith around to do the drumming for him. RIP Norman.

  • Well it was a great gig but Nick's drumming has sunken to a level where by he was being guided by Guy Pratt a lot of the time

Lee Harris' guitar work and tone was stunning - utterly gobsmackingly brilliant though

I'm not actually that keen on early Floyd, but it's a gig I'd like to go to.

Loved hearing The Nile Song live. Always one of my fav Floyd numbers. Prob the heaviest too.

Another favourite is Obscured by Clouds.

Which Nile song do they do? Anything off of Annihilation of the Wicked?

Resurrecting this thread to say I’ve not long left The Roundhouse. What fun to hear songs live for the first time, after a lifetime of only ever playing the various studio albums. The band looked to be having fun too.

Ha! Some of those songs I thought weren’t suited to being played live, but somehow the band made it all work.

Loved Lee Harris guitar work on One of These Days. There was a freshness to this and the rest of the set, mainly because of the different styles of both Lee and Gary Kemp compared to Syd and David.

Anyone else go to see them this year (2019)? What do you think?

Absolutely agree. Gary Kemp was quite surprising, particularly the quality of his lead work. Guy Pratt was immense - nice to see his 64 burgundy mist jazz bass in action. A good varied set list from a really interesting period of Pink Floyd which would never get an airing with the original surviving members. A great evening's entertainment.

It was fun. The vocal harmonies were beautiful.
