Alternate picking and legato exercises

What's Hot
I need suggestions for the best methods of improving alternate picking and legato techniques quickly.

Any exercises or YouTube videos which you have found helpful would be really useful!
Thanks

For alternate picking, I like interval exercises and I practise them ascending intervals only , descending intervals only, alternating ascending/descending and alternating descending/ascending all up and down in a scale position. I do this with 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths and 7ths. I really like these because they work on a lot of areas at one time and they really fry the brain (particularly at first). If you try them through many different scale shapes your fingers never get settled so they are really challenging and keep things fresh.

Not worked on any legato stuff for ages, but check out some Allen Hinds vids if you can, he's got a wonderful legato technique!
