SOLD: Patrick Eggle / Phil Norsworthy Custom Superstrat guitar - Soloist style - Made in UK

edited January 2019 in Guitars £

This is an extremely rare guitar, hand made in the UK by Phil Norsworthy - head luthier at Patrick Eggle Guitars back in 1996...

It was a custom order, hence the reason why it's not all like the well known Berlin, Vienna, New York and Los Angeles models. The original owner (from whom I bought the guitar) visited the factory and spec'd this guitar with Phil in person - it was loosely based on the Frontier model which Phil had previously designed under his own name before joining Patrick Eggle. Back then, the guitar cost £1500 - imagine what that would be now...

Needless to say, it's a superbly built guitar with great spec and a beautiful design. Key features are:
Body - mahogany (I believe) with a carved figured maple top
Neck - mahogany (I believe) with an ebony fretboard sporting 24 jumbo frets
Neck joint - set (glued in), although contoured at the heel to feel more like a thru-neck
Pickups - EMG (85/81 set)
Controls - a none-more-simple approach of volume and 3 way toggle
Tuners: locking Sperzels
Bridge: Schaller Floyd Rose

The guitar is simply awesome... it sounds huge, looks stunning and feels perfect to play.

The condition is superb, with no dings or damage, just light marks consistent with being well cared for. It comes with an Eggle branded Hiscox case.

If you're interested, get in touch quickly as it's only for sale due to needing to release some cash quickly - hence this may be withdrawn.

Price: £1250
Later edit:
Trades possible for a PRS (Tremonti, SCT, CU 22/24)

That's really interesting, this is the second of these I've had (I believe there were only 2 made as Patrick Eggles, and I've owned both!) and the other had the duck beak headstock (as seen on the Stuart Bull model). That was the marmite feature that most people struggled with.

Interesting never heard it called the duck beak headstock. I’m really not a fan of the droopy headstock thing which was de rigeur at the time, I also like marmite!
