Wah woes

Getting a really annoying crackle with my George Dennis wah   Doesn't matter what type of power i use and the leads are fine.

Have attached a quick sound file of it. 

Any suggestions as to what it is or how to fix it?

Sounds like a failing component. It doesn't seem to be related to the wah sweep so it's probably not anything mechanical like a bad solder joint which would be affected by pressure on the pedal. What component exactly, I couldn't say - it might be a pain to locate as well.

Looking at the schematic, there are two electrolytic (or tantalum) caps in the audio part of the circuit, C8 and C12. I would try changing them first and see what happens. After that, possibly the IC (MC33178).
