Billy F Gibbons' New Album The Big Bad Blues

Had a listen to it on Apple Music. Didn't really get it, to be honest. Both his solo albums have been very... blah. 
Both sound like over-produced ZZ Top albums. 
The last ZZ Top album was good, La Futura. But this stuff... come on, really? I suppose every rock star has to do a blues album eventually, right? 

Nothing beats old ZZ Top. Everything up to/including Antenna. Rhythmeen was alright. Mescalero had some good songs. La Futura was pretty good. I almost can't even talk about XXX because it was so terrible. 

Would like to see ZZ get on and make a new album in the vein of Afterburner/Eliminator.

Those clips don’t do much for me either.  I don’t think he’s adding much to the original songs, but this kind of material has already been done to death so I suppose it’s hard to come up with anything original.

I like it a lot.  Nothing especially new or clever but it works very well.
