Is it because the fan is very noisy anyway? That can be because there's loads of dust in the laptop and blocking the vents. Try blowing through the laptop like a harmonica (do it outside!) - it's like emptying a vacuum cleaner. Then the fan will run less, and quieter.

Lappy's are notoriously noisy, might be an idea to get something like a Toneport UX1 etc

Do you get the noise with the laptop on just battery power?

If not it is surely fixable, come back..

"Lappy's are notoriously noisy, " And that's a bit sweeping (boom! Boom!) I have used 4 laptops in 3 years or so and each has been very quiet. My current HP i3 is quiet enough to allow mic recording of speech within a couple of feet of the machine.
