NOW GONE - big piece of wood if anyone wants it

Not sure if this is the right place to post this - modmins please move/delete if not.

I've got a huge piece of wood sitting in my hall: my fiancee was going to make a coffee table out of it but we've decided it's too big and heavy. I don't know what sort of wood it is, but it's really hard and heavy, and I thought it might interest one of the guitar makers on here. I don't want any money for it, but it will need collecting from Ashingdon in Essex as it's far too heavy for me to post!

The only makers I know of on here are @FelineGuitars, @lonestar and @StormshadowGuitars - please feel free to tag anyone else who might be interested in it.

That’s a really nice bit of wood, cart it down to your local hipster upcycled furniture outlet and they’ll give you some money for it

Don't think I've got anywhere like that near me... plus I don't think it will fit in my Mini!

Thanks but probably not, it's also the time to get it at the moment but i have a friend down your way in Southend I'll see if he wants it

Looks very much like yew. And depending on thickness, good enough for several acoustic sets, maybe?
Probably worth placing a value on it rather than ‘free’ as yew rarely grows to such size without bark inclusions and suchlike.
Having said that, I’m not driving down from Scotland to pick it up, sorry.
