 Two lovely Japanese made Teles.

Both great playing guitars .

1980 Tokai Double Bound Custom.

Original pickups.Recent refret.

The neck has been replaced with a MJT/Allparts neck which is gorgeous.

Pots and Caps CTS bareknuckle.

Fender Tweed hard case.
  Mint pick guard fitted ,original white included

Please note the guitar comes with the original Tokai bridge....not with the brass saddles that are in a couple of the pics ..

If you picked that Tokai up from user 'wishbonz'... I have also played it and can attest to the neck being incredible.
That is a stonking price as well for a hell of a lot of tele. Anyone on the fence about vintage MIJ should take a gamble and find themselves a keeper.

Yep..  that’s Wishbone’s Old Tokai that he sold to me.....it’s a beaut for sure

Yes your right it did come via @wishbones . I knew the guitar before he passed it on to @tone1 from whom I bought it a while back. You may not be aware but Glen @wishbones sadly passed away a month or so ago.... He had great taste and a keen eye for a 'good'instrument .

Oh, I had no idea. I bought several Tokai Les Pauls from him over the years, drove down to him and chatted guitars over a brew each time. Really nice chap. Sad times. He loved that tele... hope it finds a new owner

It's none of my business but it's really sad to hear wishbones is no longer with us.

An announcement in OT would be befitting from someone who knew him, just to demonstrate how easy it is to simply disappear.

I only lusted after his Tokai but remember seeing his name. Poor guy.

Just a couple of my photo’s...When I had it I upgraded the pickups to Bare Knuckle Brown Sugars and put a Callaham bridge and saddles on it.... No joke, but it sounded better completely stock...
edit... I sold the upgrades and returned it to original
