Hard case with broken handle - throw away or fix up?

The hard plastic handle has broken apart. Given that I don't really need the case, is it worth fixing? Can it be given away? I'd let it go for the cost of postage but it is in Germany ...

thanks, that's a useful link. 

In this particular case (pun hard to escape) it seems that a new handle plus shipping costs would make refurbishing the case unviable - not to mention the emotional cost of displeasure on the part of my wife. So, even though I don't like throwing out stuff that might come in handy it's gone to the tip. 

International moving really makes you focus on whether you need something or not ...
