Acoustic repair

All,

Could do with some insight on the enclosed from those in the know..

Can this sort of thing be repaired/stabilised and is it 'major surgery' and hence costly?





Crack runs from bridge to back of body and looks like the seam on the back of the guitar is opening up..

    Link to larger pictures not working but in general, cracks needn't be a big deal to a competent repairer.

    Do you keep an eye on the humidity your guitar lives in?

    I think it was humidity changes that was the culprit unfortunately..

    As Lewy said, these are probably standard cracks and a competent luthier will fix them for you. You can have  just stabilised or essentially invisible, but the latter requires a refinish and lots more time. It also depends if there are other issues causing the split (humidty is the usual one though along with impact).
