Just spent the most I've ever put down on a gig for a show over a year away.

A few yeas ago we went to see Leonard Cohen at the 02.  The next day dates were announced a year ahead for Bournemouth International Centre.  They were £105 each, but front row and well worth it.

Also, do Marillion weekends count.  Pay for them approx a year in advance and the next one is £140  (that is for three night though)

Pearl Jam this year ( cancelled London gig)  tickets weren’t that bad ( £72 off the top of my head) but the two sets of rail travel and hotels and beer money and travelling round London fairly mounted up.

I love what Marillion do these days. I was a massive fan back in the Fish era, but I just can't seem to connect with the Hogarth era. I certainly have tried.

A shame as their weekends look like fun.

  • I think my ticket for Travis at Symphony Hall this year was £55, but I was bought that as a present by my parents.

I'm setting Jack White on Wednesday, each ticket was only £35 but because the missus is coming it's cost me £70, that's probably the most I've paid for myself. I'm not sure if that counts.

I bought the missus Ellie Goulding tickets at the NIA and I'm sure they were £45+

  • @axisus   Seriously man, they have just announced a UK tour for November 2019, including 2 nights at the Royal Albert Hall.    Try to get along to a gig and see how they play live.  You might feel that connection again.

  • £100 a pop for Metallica last year.  Which was bad enough, except we then paid for trains and a hotel in Brum, so we didn't have to go to the O2.

  • £400 nearly for two tickets for The Police on their reunion tour.

Had to wait two years to see them as the original date got postponed.

£200 to see Pavarotti. It’s not unusual for me to have £200’s of tickets in my wallet for gigs, some of which can be many months ahead. However, at the moment, I have nothing booked - there’s nowt much in the Newcastle area that I fancy at the moment.
