Cat Died

What's Hot
MrBumpMrBump Frets: 1244
She was 19 and a half.  Damn good innings, but I was devastated yesterday and bawled my eyes out.  She was deaf and blind (still otherwise happy and healthy though), and managed to get out of the house and into the road.  Not the end I'd have hoped or expected for her, but at least it was quick.

She was born the day my wife and I got married.  Feels weird being in the house without her.

Losing a pet is losing a family member, very sorry for your loss but I'm glad that she had a long and good life with you. Be certain that she appreciated it.

  • Sorry to hear that, had to have ours (18) put to sleep a couple of months ago. I was trying not to cry at work the rest of that week i reckon.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like she had a great life with you though and was happy.

One of our moggies regularly disappears for weeks on end and it can be quite sad wondering if he's ever coming back again (luckily he always has so far)!

Sad to read this. My sincere condolences.

Ours are almost 14 now, and I'm dreading this happening.

Try and be happy in the fact you gave her a nice life, and that she was loved. Not all cats are that lucky.

    All the best...

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Sorry to hear that. This is what puts me off of having a cat or dog - the heartbreak at losing them.

Sorry to hear OP but that’s a great age for a moggy:

We’ve got 1 left who’s 15 and I fully intend to outlive her

Apologies if you’re really old or very ill but I think your expectation for yourself are too low!

I had to put mine down this year (after 16 years) and I still miss her - Especially when I sit down to watch the TV, or if I hear the Poirot theme tune...She used to watch it with my mum. I can't see myself getting another pet.

    They do that (die).

We had cats years ago and I still sometimes think I've got to watch out I don't trip over them (or in some cat poo!).

Very sorry to hear that - it's a horrible time, and my condolences. Any animal lover will feel the same.
